About Me
I’m João Catalão, a passionate full-stack developer with a lifelong connection to IT. My journey began in my teenage years, experimenting with computers and software development, and later formalized through my 12th-grade course in "Técnico de Gestão e Programação de Sistemas Informáticos".
Professionally, I worked as a Junior Software Developer for a Dutch company in 2021–2022, where I gained hands-on experience not only in software development but also in DevOps practices. More recently, I took on a hybrid role at a smaller company, combining responsibilities as an IT technician, full-stack developer, and software engineer. Although the role ended due to company financial constraints, it strengthened my adaptability across multiple areas of IT.
I thrive on building useful, real-world projects—from intuitive web applications and automation tools to smart home integrations. I enjoy diving into new technologies quickly and have a track record of picking up skills fast, whether that’s frontend, backend, or infrastructure work. While I value my independent work style, I also enjoy being part of collaborative teams where ideas grow into impactful solutions.
I’m currently seeking a full-time developer position where I can continue to grow my career, improve my skills, and contribute to long-term projects that provide stability and value. Alongside software development, I also have experience in IT support, system administration, and DevOps, giving me a versatile edge in modern tech environments.
Outside of work, I explore my interests in smart home systems, 3D printing, and game development, and I’ve also pursued entrepreneurial projects like LuxTravel and Filenect. These ventures reflect my drive to innovate, experiment, and transform ideas into tangible solutions.
If you’re looking for a developer who’s adaptable, quick to learn, and eager to contribute both technically and creatively, let’s connect—I’d love to bring value to your next project or team.
